After Defunding Police, Portland To Give Firefighters Bulletproof Vests Amid Surging Gun Violence

The police have logged 837 shootings through August...

When I lived in Boston (1974 - 1982), Black people in the projects would shoot at fire trucks and ambulances manned by Whites who were there to save Black Lives. Clearly, Black Lives do not Matter to Black thugs.

Black Lives do not Matter to Black thugs.

When I worked for Illinois State Highways, the Bridge Crew was replacing a hand rail along I-90-04 on the south side near where the CHA Dan Ryan homes for poor blacks was located.

The bullets started to ping off the concrete. The crew dropped their tools, jumped in the trucks and got out of there quickly.

At that time guns were not allowed in CHA (public housing). I understand now that law has been repealed, though the public housing project where I live still displays the "no guns" sign prominently on the building that has the office and washing machines for residents. ;)

What side of town? I was on NW side. It was a tough neighborhood and the guys always told me they could tell when I was packing a pistol. It was a matter of life and death. ;)

I lived on the Near Northside on State ST.

Then you know about Rush St. and the clubs along there.

Back when the Chicago Outfit was really active they had the Rush St crew who would extort protection money from the club owners. The clubs ran some rackets for the Outfit.

Back in late 70s I loaned this guy $100. He had a month to get it back to me. No juice. I knew what he was using it for and there was 500% profit involved.

When he was late I put out the word on him.

Someone told me they saw him going into the Food & Liquor store on main drag. I drove over there and caught him coming out the front door. I hollered, "Come out here!" on traffic side of my Blazer.

I said to him, "So where is my money?" He starts giving me a line of BS. So I grab his shirt and tell him, "If you don't get my money FAST (I look left and a car is coming.) you might have an accident."

I pushed him back. He rocked back on his heels. I pulled him back just before the car hit him. It was so close the car stopped.

His eyes got big around and he screamed at me, "YOU'RE ON DRUGS! YOU GOTTA BE ON DRUGS!"

I had my cash the next day.

I told that story on Chicago Outfit Facebook page and one of those guys said, "You would have made a good enforcer." ROTFLMAO! ;)
