Movie making does involve the need for people to point guns at one another in ways that violate basic gun safety rules. Even given the rule that they shouldn't point them "directly" at one another, assuming that rule is true on set, weapons still must be pointed in the general direction of not just actors but stage crew as well who are all around the set, which is no less a standard safety violation of gun handling. That's unavoidable.

My take is that movie making is an industry that involves certain elements of danger no less than mining, manufacturing, construction and any number of other industries, and like any other industry, stuff happens and people die, and most often it's because someone didn't quite follow the safety rules as much as they should have. That's life.

It brings to mind not just Brandon Lee's death after being shot with a prop gun, but Eric Morrow (the star of "Combat") and 2 children who were killed on a movie set after a helicopter spun out of control during an action scene filming. Another woman was killed when filming a scene on a train bridge. A train came unexpectedly and she couldn't get off the bridge in time. Stuff happens.

I'm no fan of Baldwin, of course, but I can cut him some slack on this accident. I suppose the most I would say is that people who often denigrate guns as evil as liberals do are more likely not to take gun safety seriously as they will tend to not recognize that responsible gun handling makes any difference in gun safety. Because no safety procedures will make up for an evil gun.

Michael Massee was an actor on the Crow film from 1993. He was the one who shot Brandon Lee. He was never charged with shooting Brandon Lee so there is a certain precedent with regards to who takes responsibility.

However his career is more or less over. Alec Baldwin is pretty done as far as his career is concerned.

One thing of interest though. Apparently that cinematographer’s husband works for a law firm that has been investigated as part of the Durham probe. Which represents Hillary Clinton.

Do some research, it’s a very interesting coincidence.

SOMEBODY obviously did, and DELIBERATELY loaded it into the prop gun.

That and the armorer and assistant director who declared the gun to be safe are at minimum guilty of gross negligence.

It was their JOB to ensure the gun was safe before handing it to the actor and declaring it safe.

It's not clear it was a live round. Brandon Lee was killed with a blank but a dummy bullet stuck in the barrel no one knew about. (They call it a "squib" load, which is a new term for me).

Prop guns should be designed so they can't fire live rounds. They should also be a prominent yellow color which can be edited out with CGI effects. They still do need to give a realistic kick when fired, however, and be otherwise realistic enough not to ruin movie scenes.

They do indeed make prop guns that are usually plastic, foam or other material. The usual blank firing guns are functional firearms with a blocked barrel for the blow back, or a green gas type firearm where the action moves but does not fire anything at all. There are so many kinds of props and functional firearms that safety is all but guaranteed. The rarity of these kinds of events should tell everyone what kind of failures have to happen for them to occur.

There are three or four things that should probably be brought to the attention of everyone.

1. The director, the prop master, and Alec Baldwin are all marginal people. There was a massive disregard for safety and there were problems. 2. The set crew walked off the set that day due to safety reasons. 3. There was a failure on the part for three people to check the firearm and it’s payload. (Director, Prop Master, and Alec Baldwin) 4. Hutchin’s husband was a lawyer that worked for the firm that helped bring about the Russia hoax and one of the partners in that firm was being grilled by Durham.

Do I see a conspiracy? Maybe. Do I think Alec Baldwin is a criminal? For being an oxygen thief yes. Do I think this was an accident? I think someone put live rounds plural into that gun like other guns that had been on the set and wanted something terrible to happen. It’s important to find out the who of this. Once you do that, you will get the how and the why. So far, there were a few suspects but nobody really knows as with a movie set, there are sometimes a lot of people who work there as day labor who never go back. That’s the real issue. Finding out the who of it will give you the how and the why.

It could have been a plot to destroy the career of someone on the set. With the pending murder charge, nobody will talk. Even if it was an honest accident, nobody is going to take responsibility. I honestly believe that the civil case will be the only thing that happens, because proving evidence on a case like this one where there are so many people potentially involved would make it circumstancial at best.

He will never go to court. None of this will ever be a criminal case. The perpetrator of this crime, the one who put the live rounds in that firearm is going to walk away and likely laugh all the way home and will keep that secret until they die.
