CNN analyst Asha Rangappa compared a Southwest Airlines pilot’s pre-flight “let’s go Brandon!” quip to a declaration of support for ISIS.
Yes, really.
On a Friday morning Southwest flight from Houston to Albuquerque, the pilot uttered the phrase over the public address system. The quip has become a viral meme intended to mean “fuck Joe Biden.”
This immediately prompted a leftist meltdown, with one AP reporter, who admitted she “sounded insane,” attempting to enter a closed cockpit in an effort to chastise the pilot.
Southwest quickly condemned the pilot, releasing a statement that said “divisive or offensive” behavior isn’t condoned.
However, this wasn’t enough for people like CNN’s Asha Rangappa, who said the pilot’s quip was akin to someone declaring allegiance to bloodthirsty jihadist terror group ISIS.
“As an experiment, I’d love for an @SouthwestAir pilot to say “Long live ISIS” before taking off. My guess is that 1) the plane would be immediately grounded; 2) the pilot fired; and 3) a statement issued by the airline within a matter of hours,” tweeted Rangappa.
CNN contributor Tristan Snell asserted, “Let’s Go Brandon’ has become the MAGA version of ‘Sieg Heil’.”
CNN analyst Juliette Kayyem, who previously asserted that unvaccinated people should be put on a no fly list, demanded that the other passengers form a mob to lobby Southwest into ruining the pilot’s life.
CNN analyst Joe Lockhart speculated that Southwest isn’t taking an even harder line with the pilot because if they did, countless other pilots would walk off the job.
If a pilot had announced “fuck Trump” over the PA system, CNN would have built a shrine for him.
Yet they have an apoplectic meltdown over one dude uttering “let’s go Brandon” like it’s a declaration of support for ISIS.
Utter lunacy.

Upon some reflection, Cap'n Brandon agrees that there should be an FAA and NTSB investigation into this matter.
If this pilot was aware that a mentally deranged passenger was trying to force their way into the cockpit and didn't insist that said individual would be taken in custody and charged to the fullest extent of the dozen or so federal violations, the pilot endangered the aircraft, the entire flight crew and the souls aboard by ignoring the threat and proceeding with the flight.
The rules are pretty clear about this. The perpetrator should be arrested and charged. The pilot should be investigated and sanctioned. Ref: Federal Air Regulations/Airman's Information Manual. (FAR-AIM)

I hear ya, NN. I actually am a pilot, but don't have a current medical certificate, which may be a bridge too far given my age and injuries in 2013.
I've hung around with enough pilots and FBO shacks to understand that pilots-in-command are an ornery and independent breed. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if the SWA pilot did exactly as charged. He should be sanctioned as I outlined above. He shouldn't be allowed to fly without at least a one day suspension and a $300 fine since the woman wasn't a very serious threat.
You should've seen the judge and prosecutor last time I was called for jury duty. I'm lucky my answers during voir dire didn't land me in jail for contempt.
