Every day we hear from our friends on the left about how the Second Amendment is a prehistoric monument that doesn’t belong in modern society. They tell us current-day weapons and technology aren’t what the Founding Fathers meant when they framed the Constitution.

They tell us the Second Amendment is bogus, dangerous, and silly. Yet, every day, those of us who are actually paying attention observe the opposite is true. The Second Amendment is still relevant, still important, and still saves lives and protects liberty.

The latest example comes out of Covington County, Alabama, about two- and-a-half hours south of Birmingham.

Senior Citizen Stops Thug From Robbing Him An old man of 95-years-old was taking a nice nap in his home in Covington County when he heard a window breaking. He woke up and went to look at what was going on. That’s when he saw a 40-year-old criminal tearing through his home looking for valuables.

The criminal was frantic and aggressive, chucking a chair through the kitchen window at one point. It’s enough to have scared anyone. However, instead of running away or calling the police, the old man grabbed a gun.

He then pointed it at the criminal who was later named as Timothy Jordan. The thug froze in his tracks.

Plot Twist

After pulling the gun on Jordan, the homeowner told him to get lost. Jordan considered his chances and decided he was better off to live another day; he headed for the exit. The old man called the cops at this point; police went searching for Jordan and found him in a place close by where they cuffed him and read him his rights.

As the local sheriff Blake Turman said, this “career criminal” had been menacing the whole area. Even though the old man was obviously not nearly as strong as the younger man, the decision to get his gun could well have saved his life.

Turman praised the elderly man’s “courage,” as well as his smart behavior in knowing what to do right away.
