I noticed that there is an increase in volcanic and seismic activity. This could be attributed to lower emissions from the sun.

During the Maunder Minimum the Thames River in England froze over also.

I recall in England there have been colder than usual winters with snow and ice in areas that are not usual for this type of weather. ;)

I see all the bad flooding going on.

When I worked for Illinois Highways the Des Plaines River flooded badly one time.

One guy was in the crew cab with the Lead, Lead Worker. The other guy was driving the diesel pick up.

They were south of Palatine Rd where River Road and Milwaukee Ave came together. He told the guy driving to go to the left.

The guy said, "But that's the deep water." The boss told him again to go left. The air horn sucked up water and the diesel got hydrolocked.

It cost $10,000 to put in a new engine. I do not recall if there was any disciplinary action taken. Likely not. :-/
