A Canadian teachers union has decided that deciding internal elections by majority vote is racist if the majority is not minority, and therefore will weight nonwhite votes more than white votes:
Will this be a trend?
Legal thinkers such as John C. Calhoun and Lani Guinier have argued for protecting minorities from losing elections.
But, somehow, I suspect this emerging philosophical principle will be discarded as soon as whites are no longer the voting majority, at which point Scoreboard, baby! will become the reigning mantra.

That won't happen until there are too few whites to matter. Instead, Negro votes will still carry more weight then white votes.

After Harold Washington was elected the first black Mayor of Chicago, the blacks were still walking around wearing Washington for Mayor buttons.
Vito Marzullo got up in the City Council and said, "We don't need to Washington."
In other words, things would work the way they always had, with or without Washington. ;)
