That is black, i.e., subSahara, Africa and does not include North Africa or South Africa. Best guess is that the average age in that area is 17 and this has something to do with immunity. Its not climate as Brazil has similar climate and is full of Covid and its not race as blacks in US and US have covid just like the rest of the population.

More sunshine, more vitamin D. Of course darker skin blocks sunlight exposure by design, but at least they aren't wearing winter clothes.

Now some say that it's the kind of treatment used to combat malaria that has something to do with these "baffling" statistics.

Plenty of sunshine in Brazil but they have lots of Covid. The other country which should have had plenty but didn't was India until that spike hit a few months back. And lots of unhygienic slums which have a very young average age.
