Where I work we are forced to wear a face covering such as those worthless blue surgical masks. Maybe when it is very cold like in Chicago or further north they might be good so you do not have to breath the colder air. But here where it is warmer those masks are burdensome.

What people really need are the N-95 masks and those must be properly fitted to make them efficient at blocking the Covid virus which is about .1. to .2 Microns in size.

People just do not understand the science.

Earlier in the week I went to hospital and there was a kid maybe 3 or 4 years old wearing a mask. Younger people have vigorous immune systems. ;)

I've got an old car battery charger that used to be my Dad's hanging on the wall of shop 1. It has a selenium rectifier stack inside it, not sure if it's full or half-wave configured. I don't even think about plugging it in. I've got some of my maternal grandfather's old tools. The hand tools work OK.

I've got a box of branded beeswax zipper sticks from his old dry cleaning store downtown (Indiana Institute of Technology now). They date back to the days when there was only five digits in phone numbers. They're fine too.

(Edit) That brought up an interesting memory. When Orville died, Mom and Dad sold the dry cleaning plant to a guy that turned it into a car shop, Rock's Auto, I think. He paid my folks with one $5,000 bill. That had to be in the late 60s or early 70s. My Dad was still alive and I was just a kid. I know it was on Maumee, I think the cross street was Division. The Campus ate up a lot of streets in there, and Maumee has been straightened. It's hard to tell exactly where it was now.

My first car was a '76 Chevy Blazer with a straight six and three on the tree with lock out hubs. I went ridge running in Arkansas with it long ago. I paid $4,500 for it. It had no back seat and I used it to haul all kinds of things.

Myself and a friend even went to Indiana and cut some ditch weed. That was a trip for sure. That old friend is dead for a long time. He got drunk in Wisconsin, went off the road and hit a tree. He left a wife and two kids behind. No idea whatever became of them.

I was sitting with them at their dining table once. She said something to him and he decked her. She pleaded with me and I said, "I'm not going to get in the middle of this one." :-/
