The Archbishop of Canterbury has suggested that refusing to take the coronavirus vaccine goes against the Christian faith, claiming that turning down the jab violates the principle of “loving thy neighbour.”

Breitbart reports:

The Most Reverend Justin Welby, the top bishop in the Church of England, said that getting vaccinated is a “moral issue” which should supersede personal desires or rights.

“It’s not about me and my rights to choose, it’s about how I love my neighbour. Vaccination reduces my chances — doesn’t eliminate — but it reduces my chances of getting ill and reducing my chances of getting ill, reduces my chances of infecting others,” Welby told ITV news on Tuesday evening.

“It’s very simple, so I would say yes, to love one another as Jesus said, get vaccinated, get boosted,” he added.

The archbishop refused to comment on whether he believed not getting the vaccine without medical exemptions was a sin, however, he said that he agreed that it is a moral issue, saying: “I’m going to step out on thin ice here and say, yes, I think it is.”

“Now obviously there are some people who, for health reasons, can’t be vaccinated – different question,” Welby caveated.

We must respectfully ask what the Archbishop has been smoking?

Exactly, I was gonna tell the bishop that it's past time to pass the pipe.

As a theological question, one claiming rights in various forms, in certain situations, could be considered selfish. A basic tenant of Christianity is self-sacrifice, after all. The most obvious example being Jesus allowing himself to be crucified in spite of being completely undeserving of the punishment.

Where the Bishop errs is with the presumption of the vaccine being effective at preventing others from being infected, and completely safe and of course it is neither.

"during House of Lords tributes to HRH The Prince Philip" no less. Didn't realize he was a vaxomaniac?

The Archbitter of Canterbubble (as Lennon called him) is just another barnacle on the ship of religion going way way back.

There is simply no basis, defense or rationale possible for forcing jabs on the public or calling ppl names for refusing them. This is a communist takeover from another angle. Directly liquidating the rubes was a disaster for them in Eastern Europe so they're getting ppl to do it to themselves time, counting on the public to always believe a govt that claims to be saving it from some monster foreign threat.

The masses are asses but have their natural rights.

The Pilgrims left England because of religious persecution.

After they landed at Plymouth they found out the winters were hard and no one wanted to pitch in to survive.

Only the kindness of the local Indian tribe saved their bacon. They learned also how to farm from the Indians, though their farming tools were very primitive. Do you recall Indian corn? ;)
