(Esso:) I think it would be nice if you could explain to the rest of us, what exactly is your problem with BTP?

I've talked to B on several occasions, and he doesn't seem to be a "retard" to me. Maybe you don't like the stories he tells because he's had a life, maybe you don't like him because he's not an asshole all the time.

Talk to us. I know you don't like me because I post videos. You seem so unhappy here. Explain it to us. B's not a retard, but my late sister was. You could aspire to be as kind she was even though she never had the intellect of a three year old when she died in her 50s a few years ago.

There was no response. I followed with this:

It's like this: If you don't talk to me, you're gone. I don't get paid to be here and I got a full schedule with personal and financial issues to deal with. If you don't even want to defend yourself, I won't waste my time doing it either.

You have 24 hours. Final notice, and I'll post this note to the forum so everyone will know me being an asshole in kicking you off was completely fine with you.

If IRTorqued decides he gives a damn, he can let me know. Until then...

Really appreciate your hard work here, Pinguinite, but I haven't noticed IRT being that obnoxious. Sheesh, the insults I put up with in my 1st year or two -- I politely but firmly called them on it and they stopt. Nobody's ever stood with me against abuse here -- quite the contrary!

You're the boss but I'd hate for us to permanently lose a regular. This is his final notice, were there others before it?

Nope! I don't bother with procedures. It's not worth my time & effort. I do what I want when I want to do it. It's the only moderation method that keeps me from being accused of not following the rules. hehe.

I will say this though. If IRTorqued cared about this as much as you do, things wouldn't be going this way. He apparently doesn't, so....

Maybe a better question would be is; what gives anybody the right to be uncivil when they're a guest in someone's house?

For my two cents , I don't see what anyone did so very wrong. It's just words and honestly , I like them both. But it's your ship and it sails as you will.

It's just, their's so few of us left now and I see the forum as a beacon. A last bastion. A place of REAL free speech. Course I know freedom of speech ain't freedom from consequence but I doubt any death threats were made. And to be frank, even if the suspension were lifted , irtorqued may be tourqed off enough to not bother returning regardless. And that saddens me.

I miss okcsubmariner. I miss leadandlag. I miss greyLmist. I miss Christine and Bill. I miss everyone we no longer have among us. We're all getting older. My god I've been here almost 20 years now. LoL. I still am not getting any younger.

Still.

I cherish everyone here.

Yes there are very few of us here. This place pre-dates facebook which is everyone's one-stop-shop for spouting off about politics. But we may be at a point where the censorship on major platforms like that will drive people back to grass roots places like this. The lack of advertising would certainly add to the attraction.

I've recently made changes that should better support email confirmations for new registrants. Email delivery is getting problematic thanks to spammers with major providers instituting tough restrictions or what email is accepted. Email is really becoming obsolete.

So it's possible we could see increased participation as FB and major social media falls out of style. We'll see.

An addendum response: Torqued's gotta want it. If he doesn't want it enough to talk to me, then it doesn't matter what you or I think.

I'm a big proponent of free will. It's a big part of my personal theology that all of us are/should be free to do whatever we wish to ourselves, whether good or bad.

this snowplow fiasco.

When I worked for Illinois State Highways my regular route truck was called a "super truck" since its gross weight was 67,000 pounds. You could put on more salt and stay out longer.

One time they gave it to some guy that didn't know what he was doing. He was plowing the shoulder at a high rate of speed, maybe 40 mph which was way too fast.

There was a place contractors had torn out a driveway, but the barricades were knocked down because of snow plowing. He hit that and threw the truck into the median, ripped the plow off the front end and twisted the frame.

I'll bet they gave him a month off for that one and I bet his clout told him, "I can't do anything about it. You wrecked the truck." :-/
