After Jack Ruby shot and killed Lee Harvey Oswald, a reporter shouted at him, "Jack, how could this have happened?"

Ruby replied, "If Adlai Stephenson were Vice President this never would have happened."

LBJ and Lady Bird were in a car in the same motorcade. Pictures showed Lady Bird, but LBJ was not there. He ducked down in the car. ;)
