Czar Vladimir I has given an epic speech and signed papers officially recognizing Donesk and Louhansk as independent republics.

And he’s sent the troops in.

I don’t usually say this, but it’s happening.

Putin’s speech was historic in a way that nothing has been in my lifetime.

It’s really worth watching the whole thing.

It’s all just my talking points, actually.

He went through the entire history of the Ukraine, and the fact that big parts of it have always been Russia. He also said parts of it should belong to Poland and Germany, and that it isn’t a real country.

Secession is a fine idea except for the national debt, i.e., any seceding state would find it impossible to take responsibility for its share.

Repudiation is the only solution to the debt -- Dr. Clarkson had a brilliant two-page spread on it in The Spotlight, edited by me.

And I don't think you'd like it if we lost those states. For one thing there's no telling where a secession craze would stop. .
