I find it amazing that Japan gets most of its electricity from coal and natural gas.

All the oil that comes off the Alaska pipeline goes right to Japan. The U.S. does not see a drop of it.

BTW, at the start of the Serbia-Bosnia War, the U.S. bombed and dropped all the bridges over the Danube River. This stopped the flow of cheap Russian oil to French and German refineries.

They figured it would take 10 years to fish the bridges from the river. ;)
