Three Predictable Problems Will Surface Soon

“Ethanol is a valuable source of octane in finished gasoline, but it is chemically different than petroleum gasoline and cannot be used in concentrations above 10 percent in small engines — like outboard boat motors, motorcycles, lawnmowers, generators or chain saws — or in any cars made before 2001. Complicating matters further, most cars on the road today still aren’t warrantied to run on gasoline with more than 10 percent ethanol. Retail stations also must have compatible infrastructure in order to sell gasoline with higher ethanol blends.” This issue is known within the industry as “The Blend Wall.”

So… how is that going to affect every car that is not rated to run e-85 then?

What better way to cut dependence on oil based energy than to destroy all gasoline powered engines?

e-85 is the bullshit 85% ethanol stuff that requires a flex-fuel vehicle. You're thinking of e-15 which my Toyota Tacoma has a warning on the gas cap not to use (e-15 in the circle with a slash).

I guess we're just fucked.

e-15 probably won't immediately kill them. It'll take awhile, but they won't be happy in the interim.

Kind of like me.

(Edit) My neighbor told me the Marathon station on 930, East of New Haven, sells 0% ethanol gas, but that was before the Bidet mandated e- 15. That should go for $10+/gallon easy if it's still available. I was looking at some engineered gasoline at Lowe's last time I was there. I think that was $30/gal in the gallon cans. The quarts were expensive.

They will do to cars what the covid injections did to people, I guess.

Good analogy. I got news Tuesday morning about a friend, ~40, that just up and died in his sleep Monday night. 40 y/o guys don't do that. If I sober up enough, I'll go talk to his boss tomorrow about what needs to get done.

(Edit) Al brings the score up to 3-2 in favor of the men in nine months. I'm sure McMurphy will even things up soon.

That one's really gonna hurt.

You've seen 5 people die in 9 months? Your town must have gotten a particularly bad batch of the stuff.

Yeah, I'm not 100% sure about Al though. I don't know his vax status, but the "official" cause of death is about as improbable as it gets.
