NYC Mayor Eric Adams mooted housing 3,000 illegal immigrants who've overwhelmed homeless shelters in hotels - and said he wants taxpayer cash from Joe Biden to do so.

While he says he is planning to do so, he hasn't actually done it yet. Supposedly the homeless who had been living in hotels during Covid are being evicted.

Some of the hotels were quite nice

It makes me wonder if there will be any in the Chinese owned Waldorf-Astoria. ;)

But those touristsno longer have the Twin Towers to go to.

So, the only other attractions are the fountains and pools where the Twin Towers once stood. Then there is the old standby Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building. I wonder still how King Kong managed to scale it.

All of the trash generated in NYC must now be shipped out of state in rail cars since local dumps have long ago been filled.

One time we were in NYC to pick up a back haul to Chicago. It was lunch time and I walked up the hill and found a restaurant. I ordered a Reuben sandwich and fries.

The Marquis on the nearby show house advertised, THE JERRY SPRINGER SHOW. He was a freak back then and I hear he is still a freak. ;)

They never were a tourist attraction except for the restaurant and bar. The tourists are back, though perhaps not in the numbers as before. More Asians than Europeans.
