Democrat Mayor Lori Lightfoots city has just set a new record after the Chicago Police Department reported its 1,000th carjacking of the year so far.
Chicago passed the grim milestone on August 6, according to city data.
Last year, which saw a record number of carjackings, the city recorded 1,000 carjackings on August 16.
But Lightfoot insists that there is nothing to see here except a few kids joyriding.
The citys Democrat leaders continue to downplay violent crime in Chicago, arguing that carjackings are just teenagers looking for a vehicle to use in other crimes.
However, a new study debunked Lightfoots faulty claim.
The study found that from 2017-2021, Chicago police recovered less than one in five carjacked vehicles.
CPD recovered just 10% of the vehicles carjacked in 2021 as of Feb. 8, 2022.

It makes you wonder where these carjacked vehicles are going? Every part is marked with the VIN number so if the parts are sold they can be traced.
It has crossed my mind that these cars might end up being exported. ;)

My ex partner in Chicago was robbing people for drugs and money. This was no nickel and dime stuff. It was tens of thousands of dollars.
One time one of the guys that was with him said his name. But the guy they robbed misunderstood, and they were looking for someone else.
I saw his cousin at a Bears game. I asked if he had seen him. He said, "Man, he wigged out and moved to Texas."
If the guy he robbed had found him, he would be six feet under right now. ;)
