Companies are finding it increasingly difficult to operate in the Chicago metropolitan area after progressive policies and defunding the police rhetoric have transformed the area into a violent mess.

Why would anyone locate any facility let alone an HQ in a high tax, high corruption state like Cali, NY, Mass and Illinois? You can get educated workers to move to zero state income tax areas like Nashville.

The thing that really killed Chicago jobs was the "head tax" on companies with 50 or more employees. Many of them moved to the suburbs. Chicago realized this and repealed the tax. But it was too late since most of those businesses had already moved out. My sister worked at Aetna Plywood and they moved to Maywood.

I think I'm a pretty nice guy. At least I haven't killed anybody in awhile.
I am in a target-rich environment though.

I was in Northern Indiana and rural Michigan a couple of weeks ago, and I found the people pretty decent -- much nicer than the New York, Massachusetts, and New Jersey types who flock and permanently roost here.

Yes, I've noticed that. All around the world. Well, at least in the six countries and three continents that I've visited. (That's not counting Kentucky or Texas as separate countries.)
