Peak parenting in 2010:

65% of Republicans in their late 30s were parents.

62% of Democrat

Peak parenting in 2020:

60% of Republicans in their late 30s were parents.

50% of Democrat

Here's another look at this.

There's a not a single age bracket I can find where Democrats are more likely to be parents of minor children than Republicans.

Really telling stat: 25% of Democrats aged 25-30 are parents to minor children. It's 41% of Republicans.

Some folks have been asking for this with just white respondents.

The Republican trend lines look almost exactly the same.

For white Democrats, peak parenting was ~62% in 2010. In 2020, it was ~48%.

Those charts are almost useless because they don't show the average number of children; instead they show only if any children, i.e. one or more.

If Democrat parents have on average more children than Republicans do, then these charts might convey the exact opposite message regarding "fertility" as the article purports to do. And blacks and hispanics, who vote overwhelmingly Democrat, do have on average more children than whites, who vote Republican at a relatively higher rate.

The final three sentences are more of the same, only worse. Citing only the Democrats' 2010->2020 numbers -- without giving the Republicans' numbers for comparison -- provides ZERO support for the assertion that "the drop in fertility over the last decade is primarily among Democrats".

I know math and logic are hard, but so is life.

A lot of Republicans are faith based and have lots of children. Democrat pollsters blamed their loss of voters decades after the legalization of abortion to so many aborted black babies. You are probably right about the number of children poor Democrats have. But then most of the childless couples I know are Democrats.
