I went out for a smokes, gas and booze run today. My truck was down to half so I thought I'd top up with premium because I'd read that gas drops an octane point per month in storage. I don't drive a lot so my gas is in the tank for a long time between fill-ups.

Shit, the differential between regular and premium was $1.80/gal. $3.459 vs $5.259. Regular cost me $27.66, premium would've been $42.06. I'm too cheap to spend that kind of money on myself.

Back before the Bidet, the differential used to be 25 to 40 cents. I haven't read anything about that and never noticed it before now because the signs only show the regular price.

WTAF is going on? FJB!

The gal at the liquor store commented that she liked my shirt:

$35-40 (inc s&h, tax) for a T-shirt is kind of salty, but it's for a good cause.

I talked to Phinehas up near Chicago. She said their prices are normal, maybe a 50 cent differential. Maybe this is a weird local problem or a problem at his station. Vijay doesn't work weekends.

I filled up the Toyo last week with 89octane, because it was only $.25 more than 87. I wanted to see if I got better mileage with 89. The new Toyo has 13:1 compression, but doesn't knock or ping because all the fancy valve timing crap, and has GFI and regular port injection.

Mustang used to sound like a Cummins if I ran it on 87 in the summer, even though it was nominally 9.3:1 compression. None of that fancy Jap 'puter shit...
