True, but while clot-shot deaths in the US have exceeded 8 million, I guess that was acceptable collateral damage, to be "safe." I think some have been taken off the market though.

When Ford recalled the passenger's side Takata airbag in StraitWoman's 2007 Edge, they told us not to drive it, and offered to pay for a rental car until parts were available for the fix. Which took a year or two. We kept using the car anyway, just avoided using the front passenger seat.

Now a few years later, another recall -- this time for the driver's side airbag. But this time they're not saying don't drive it, and they haven't offered to pay for a rental car. Been waiting for this fix another year or two now.
