It was more like the late 70s when the gas shortage was going on. I can recall you were limited to 10 gallons per customer.
I was making newspaper relays for the local agency. My Blazer was a gas hog and I would shut it off while counting out the newspapers on the tailgate.
One morning at about 2 AM a cop flagged me down. He asked, "What are you doing?" I told him, "Making newspaper relays for Manor News."
Then he asked his partner, "What's in back?"
She said, "Newspapers."
Then I said, "And you thought it was midnight auto parts." ROTFLMAO!

I feel sorry for those deadbeat Dad's who are trying to get away from paying the child support they owe.
I knew a guy out here who must travel 250 miles into Arkansas to build pole barns that pay cash.
If the Dollar is turned into electronic currency he will have no place to hide.
He has three kids on west coast and four here. You would think he would have enough sense to not dip the wick so often. ;)
