Ever see the episode "The Inner Light"?
That made me cry.
Probably because I've lived two lives simultaneously. Neither one worked out too good.

MEAWW.COM / News / Human Interest Joe Biden says 'I'm in trouble' as he looks for lost mask only to find it in pocket, Internet asks 'is he 5?' By Srivats Lakshman Updated On : 20:37 PST, Apr 29, 2021 Joe Biden says 'I'm in trouble' as he looks for lost mask only to find it in pocket, Internet asks 'is he 5?' Joe and Jill Biden look for the mask on stage (Twitter) FB Share
In an unfortunate incident, President Joe Biden appeared to lose his mask at a rally in Duluth, Georgia. Senators Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock were seen joining Biden on the stage when Biden began a frantic search for his face covering. Within seconds, he was joined by first lady Jill Biden in the search.
As the two senators walked up, Biden began shuffling through his folder. He can then be heard telling Warnock what sounds like "can't find my mask". The first lady then stepped up from behind Biden and took his folder to search while Biden turned to the audience to say, "I'm looking for my mask. I am in trouble". He then appeared to share a joke with Warnock while an aide ran up behind the president and handed a mask to Jill.

As he did so, Biden appeared to find the mask in his pocket and held it up with a relieved "ah!" to the crowd. Jill then placed the folder back on the lectern while the president wore his mask behind her. As this happened, Ossoff and Warnock are waving to the crowd. All throughout the 40 or so seconds, music was blaring from the speakers. Here's a video of the incident, posted on Twitter. ADVERTISEMENT

It wasn't the only awkward moment for Biden, who was interrupted by protesters shortly after he started his speech. As he began his remarks, protesters chanted "End detention now" and "communities not cages". To that, a clearly annoyed Biden responded, "I agree with you. I'm working on it man. Give me another five days". That remark led to cheers from the crowd and eventually, Biden smiled. ADVERTISEMENT
The president was in the peach state to promote his plans to grow the economy. He also thanked Georgia for voting for Ossoff and Warnock, giving Democrats the two crucial seats needed to control the Senate. However, all the promises he made and plans he had clearly took a backseat to the mask gaffe. Within minutes, that's all most people could talk about on social media. ADVERTISEMENT

While Biden may have laughed off the incident, it appears as if some Americans aren't. Not surprisingly, but Fox News was quick to highlight the little drama as commentator Stephen L Miller tweeted, "Who is he always in trouble with? He always says he's in trouble. Is this is a signal?" That sentiment was echoed by another user, who asked, "How come the President of the United States is always so worried about getting in trouble? Is he 5? Who does he think hes going to be in trouble with?" ADVERTISEMENT

Yeah, I forgot about that. I wasn't a big fan.
His two lives were separate. Mine were concurrent. I called Teri, Pam more than twice.
Teri was a disturbed little girl in a woman's body. I kept her safe and warm and dry for 27 years.
When the MDs told her that I wasn't going to survive the crash or would be a vegetable, she filed for divorce. I wrote up the decree myself. She got a couple million dollars and proceeded to fly right into a windmill.
I'd get updates from the Company. I told them to stop, they didn't. I'll never talk much about her being one of Murph's charges. It was tragic beyond belief.

Pin might've gotten a little hand-up by some kook about the time the Covi hysteria was ramping up.
I suppose the nutjob saw where Covi was going in the US and figured a little guy in the mountains of Ecuador might need a little cash.
I can call in some markers if it's important, and find out who it is, but I don't see the point.

My Mom used to say, "If you can get over the dog, you can get over the tail."
I suppose my first climb was spending my 15th birthday at my Dad's funeral.
I guess the next one was my Uncle Mike (father figure) blowing his head off.
Jack Fisher (another father figure) dying of asbestosis.
Then there was the Beirut thing. 241 Marines, soldiers, sailors in an instant. Gotta be downhill from there, right?
Step-dad, Mother, younger sister. I'm fine!
Three girlfriends and about another dozen friends from the clot-shots.
One heart attack and a bathroom flood a couple weeks ago...
I'm fine.
I miss Ramette so bad, I think I need to catch up with her.

Murph always wore Pacman black when she'd come here after she ditched her scrubs and took a shower to get the dead people stink off her about 00:30 every night and would wear one of my Tees as a nightgown.
Most nights, she'd lay on my shoulder and cry. If she wanted to talk, I'd let her talk. Sometimes she wanted more than that, she was driving.
She died just short of he 31st birthday in Lithuania. She'd been her for 12+ years on a student visa then an H1b or whatever. Regardless, she got to see her family for the first time in over a decade.

Without delving into speculation or what may be misconstrued as gossip, why didn't she just ban any such grievous nuisance?
Freedom of speech does not mean idiots have the right to get in your face and screech at you, the same applies to online conversations.

One thing I have learned over the last 25 years.... well, maybe over the first 15 of those 25, is the finer nuances of what "freedom of speech" means, and you are of course correct. But the full, real meaning of the concept is not so easy to grasp. She did ban one guy who was a PITA. He was a shill for Israel.
In one sense, it could be said that "freedom of speech" is a fiction because speech comes at a cost. An effort needs to be made to make your voice heard, and that effort will either be yours or someone else's. Sure you could mumble your beliefs in your own home but that's not really "speech". Enabling real speech means using someone's effort like the software running this forum or, more specifically, those who paid for it.
Anyway, she apparently didn't feel right about banning the person(s) who where harranging her. Perhaps that would have violated her own "free speech" principles. So she instead exercised her freedom of association. Our loss, her gain. Such is life.
I've conversed with her a few times since she left though not for some number of years now. She seemed to be doing well and hopefully still is.

On the other hand, bad actors are never shy of exploiting any ideal so rigid it becomes brittle.
My personal view is that annoying people should be beaten mercilessly. :)
