(Edit 2) A few weeks ago I wrote a check to a vet for $545.73 to get a disturbed little girl's "emotional support cat" out of hock. Her divorced mother could only come up with the first $500.

I used to love this country to the point that I'd die for it. Now it looks like I'm going to die because of it.

Me and a buddy rescued a young gal from a dive bar in New Haven, and got her back to her momma's trailer several years ago. It was in the winter, she was so fucked up. I remember holding her head while she was puking out of the passenger side of her 5.0litre Mustang that John (the bartender's BF) drove, I was following in my 93 red truck. She was a cute gal, chubby, Stacey, Tracey, something. She was lucky me and John were in charge. That could've been a really bad deal for her.
