I get calls on my cell from "Account Services". I do not have any "accounts".

Someone told me I should answer the phone, "Sheriff's Office. How may I direct your call?" and see how fast they hang up. LOL

That might be illegal. I was getting a bunch of calls from some credit scam, I started answering the phone "Consumer Fraud Division, how may I help you?"

They stopped calling.

I saw a Deputy Sheriff at the local Wal Mart. I told him what I intended to do. He was laughing.

If you get an unsolicited phone call, there is no law against you misrepresenting yourself as a law enforcement agency.

The party making the call just might be a bill collector.

Watch how fast they hang up. ;)
