Charitable donations have dried up locally.

I know a young lady living 20 miles east of Hot Springs, Arkansas. She told me she was hungry and hadn't eaten in a few days. I sent her a card for $20 to pay for a taxi to Salvation Army kitchen to get a meal and food to take home. She went there and was told she could not get a meal until she filled out paperwork and was sent home.

I told her, "That is bullshit. They should have fed you on the spot." .)
