One thing people do not know about is that Palestine was a former Ottoman area. For this reason alone, the Turks might try to intervene.

When the Balfour Declaration was written in 1917 and presented to the Zionist Organization of Great Britain and Ireland, it promised the Jews a national homeland in Palestine, which at that time had a minority Jewish population.

Arafat was right. The main problem in Palestine has always been the Zionists. ;)

Correct, but the British and French had their spoils at the end of WW I. Palestine was part of the British mandate.
