FWIW, my Esso handle originated from FreedomUnderground (3rd joint) where my screenname was Stand Opposed. Everybody would abbreviate it SO, which brings to mind "So?"

That grated on me, not unlike a girlfriend who decided to start calling me Robert, my middle name, instead of my given name, so I shortened Stand Opposed to the phonetic Esso for brevity. The relationship I had with the gal that insisted on calling me Robert, ended very badly around 2018 with the Allen County courts involved.

My new, old girlfriend from 40+ years ago calls me Jim, but that kind of grates on me a little, after the world has referred to me as Pacman for so long, but I can live with it for now.

I can't remember what the 2nd websites name was right this second, but Neil and Sally Tlasek (?) ran that joint.

I think the 1st forum might've been Free Republic, but I never posted there. I dunno, I'm supposedly such a badass, I'm not even allowed in Canada.

As I recall the poster Arator came up with the name Freedom4um for Chrissy and Neil.

Dakkie, I think Dr. Kimmy MD was looking for you on 4um last night. I'll let her tell the story.
