A California Black bear at Yosemite does not frighten me. But I would like to see feminist crazies confront a polar bear. A man with a powerful rifle standing nearby might ask, "Are you willing to accept assistance from a man?"

Black bear

I worked with a guy on Illinois Highways that bought piece of ground in West Virginia. He told me he was walking along a trail and met a Black bear going the other way on the same trail.

He told me, "We both froze. I took one step back, and the bear took one step back. I took another step back, and the bear took another step back."

Then he said, "I turned and ran, and I figured the bear did the same thing." LOL

When in bear country one should wear bells to alert bears of your presence, carry pepper spray the extra strength type. One can usually tell the bear type by the scat. Black bear scat tends to have berry seeds, bones and fur of small mammals. Grizzly bear scat will look similar to black bear scat but may contain bells and have a peppery scent.
