The House of Representatives passed a resolution Friday that automatically enrolls young men for selective service, and expands the mandatory draft ages by one years, to men aged 18-26.
Young men are already required to register for selective service if they are between the ages of 18 and 25, but the new resolution would enroll them automatically. Although the draft has not been used in half a century, it is considered a felony if an eligible man fails to register, Fox News reported.
The resolution was included in the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which approves the defense budget for the next fiscal year, and includes the government's top priorities when it comes to defense and national security policies. The NDAA passed the House in a 217-199 vote.

I knew this chick who was in Ghana. She got a scholarship to a University in Scotland to become a CPA. She told me if she had met me before she went to Ghama, she never would have gone.
Last I heard she was back in Ghana to do national service. By now she might be back in the States making big bucks. Ships that pass in the night. :-/

When I was making deliveries for the gay florist in Chicago back in the 70s, I was near Clark, Broadway and Diversey where they all came together. Broadway ended north of Diversey.
This was the neighborhood the fags hung out. I knew what a drag queen was from working at that florist shop. I spotted one in the neighborhood when I was making a delivery in that area.

One guy I worked with on Illinois State Highways was in college. He dropped out and a month later he got a draft notice. They sent him to Vietnam.
He was in 26th Infantry Division. They were in the invasion of Cambodia. He always carried extra frags. At night they would camp off the trail and set up Claymores along the trail.
One night an NVA patrol came thru and the guy on the switch for the Claymores was asleep. He just started throwing frags. He was awarded a South Vietnamese medal for killing Communists, but he never picked it up.
His C/O told him he didn't have to go on any missions his last 30 days. They changed C/O's and he was ordered to go out. He refused so they sent him to the Brig.
He told me a black guy stuck his hand in his mashed potatoes, so he stuck his fork in the back guy's hand.
When he got home he went to his room and stayed there a month and didn't come out once.
He was also my boss when we worked concerts. I was on the stage crew. One show was a Grunge show and guys would wear black lipstick. They didn't sell the seats behind the stage. When the band was going off, this guy jumped the rail in the corner and starts running along front row of dead seats. I parallelled him down below.
He tried to jump thru the rail. I came around the corner and stuck my arm up. When he hit my arm, his glasses went to the tip of his nose and his cap went over his eyes.
My boss was standing on the opposite rear corner of the stage. When he saw that he said, "That was an all-pro move."
He told the whole crew I clotheslined a guy that tried to jump on top of the band.
We had a guy above the ramp with a black curtain which was backstage entry. He came down the stairs and grabbed that guy up and took him thru the curtain. He told hem, "Show's over. Go home." Or like the say at the bars and night clubs, "You don't have to go home but you can't stay here." ;)
