Long before Covid I lived in mid-town Manhattan.

I would pass by the Pfizer building and admire the incredible mosaic tile artwork. Didn't understand what it meant but it looked cool.

My game cameras pick up a lot of hogs, every now and then the bob cat will saunter by. Not so much squirrels or groundhogs hell they'd break body parts trying to get through the Victoria clay. All just a half mile down a no service dirt road from the coop. I'm waiting for hog killing weather which doesn't last long here. We get two days of winter which may or may not be consecutive. All the other days are tee shirts and shorts days.

I was playing Chess in High School. I moved my Knight. The next move would have been Check on his King.

My opponent took my Knight, and I immediately took his Queen with my Bishop. You should have seen the look on his face.

Oh yeah, when I worked for Ilinois State Highways, I hit a big doe with the snowplow. She was grazing on the side of the road. There was a chain link fence there with a golf course behind it.

The Strobe lights must have spooked her and she ran right in front of me. I called for the Foreman, Joe, and told him what happened. He came by and said, "Are you sure she's dead? I don't want to get kicked."

I replied, "Yeah, look. Her eyes are open. They always die with their eyes open." We threw her on the tailgate of the pickup and drove about a quarter mile to the gravel pit entrance. I pulled her off into a bank of clean snow and cut off the hind quarters.

I ran the rest of the night with the heater off and took them home and aged them a few days in the fridge. one I gave to the neighbor. He cooked up some stew and gave me a big plate of it. He fed his family too.

The other one I brought into the yard. We had a guy that used to be a butcher. He said it was perfect. We cut it up and fried it on the stove. It was some good eating. If it runs, eat it. ;)
