We had to wear conductive shoes in a metal lined room while testing electro-explosive devices. The tricky part was keeping a 3/4 inch Lexan shield between ones person and said device.

I got zapped pretty good years ago while working on a solar setup in wet shoes. It was on the low voltage side, but there was some HV leakage from the inverters or battery conditioners or something.

I can see that, like in a fireworks or blasting cap factory or working with CMOS chips in low humidity, not so much for a typical homeowner.

My AC arc welder runs at 80 volts open circuit, I had to do a bunch of welding while chest deep in brackish water once the gloves were sweated up I'd feel that 80 volts every time I replaced electrodes.
