It's a little over a year, 21Nov2023, that Dr. Kimmy caught up to me after we drifted apart, forty-four ago when I started contracting for The Company and spent fifteen years with the goob, mostly overseas.
Now that Doc's divorce is final, she's one of the "odd men out" (not married or have local family) and is doing rounds at the hospital Thanksgiving day. She wanted to visit her younger sister in Carbondale that she hasn't seen for several years. She was pretty mad about that last Friday, but we had two whole days together last weekend which was nice rather than our normal one day.
It's just as well, I wasn't thrilled with the idea of her being on the road on a busy holiday and I doubt if she would have made it past Dakmar's house in Indy. I'm not sure, but I think that would make him my step-husband boyfriend in-law. I was never very good at family designations outside of mother/father.
Eleven years ago yesterday was the anniversary of me me almost being killed by an old lady that was texting and driving when she hit me head-on. That ended my marriage. I kept busy with five years of rehab.
I think it was two or three years ago when Aleena (McMurphy) moved in with me for a little over a year until she went home to Lithuania to be with her family.

If I'm lucky, me and Kim might have three whole days together (Fri, Sat, Sun) this weekend. Maybe she can go Xmas shopping with me, I have no idea what to get the Squirt. I know very little about 14 y/o girls. Kimmy was one once, I hope she remembers.

Thanks, hon. I hope you're doing well. Let's hope 2025 is a damn sight better than last year, although I think I managed to get through the whole year without any friends dying in 2024, at least that I know of. That's something, I suppose.
I'll find out in a little bit. It's time to switch over calendars. Reviewing the past year is always a grim task. Me and Kim were going to do it last weekend, but she wasn't feeling well. Something rattled her at work last week.
