Israel plans to confiscate more than 23,000 dunams (around 5,900 acres) in the occupied West Bank and declare it as state territory with the aim of illegal settlement expansion, with the move being described as the largest Israeli land grab in decades.
More than 23,000 dunams of land for the benefit of the settlement in Yosh. We determine facts on the ground and thwart the establishment of a Palestinian state! Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said via X.
According to Israels Channel 14, the move is one of the largest land appropriations since the Oslo Accords in 1993.
Since then and up until the end of 2023, about 50,000 dunams in the West Bank have been declared as Israeli state land.

Israeli minister seeks delay in Netanyahu trial over Syria events
Israel's education minister, Yoav Kish, called for the postponement of Benjamin Netanyahu's corruption trial over the fall of Bashar al-Assad's regime in Syria.
In comments on Sunday, Kish urged the attorney's general office to push the Israeli prime minister's testimony, scheduled for Tuesday, by another three months over the fall of Damascus.
Syrian rebels declared Assad's ouster after seizing control of Damascus early on Sunday, forcing him to flee and ending his family's decades of rule after more than 13 years of civil war in a seismic moment for the Middle East.
"In light of the strategic change in our region following the fall of the Assad regime, the uncertainty and the many challenges facing the Prime Minister and the State of Israel, I call on the judges and the Attorney General's Office to reconsider postponing the Prime Minister's appearance in court by three months," Kish said.

TikTok Set to Be Banned in the US on January 19
Smartphone users in the US may soon be deprived of TikTok as the US government continues its move toward a ban on the popular social media app. The end has been looming for TikTok ever since the House of Representatives passed a bill in March that would block TikTok and other Chinese-owned social media services from mobile devices in the United States.
(Lots of users will be mad over this. All they have to do is sell it to American businessmen. It is currently owned by the Chinese)
