When was the big snow storm in Indiana?
The Great Blizzard of January 26-27th, 1978 came about in a winter known for cold and storms. The Winter of 1977-78 had been one the coldest on record across the central and eastern United States as arctic airmasses periodically spilled southeastward out of Canada and met up with warm moist air from the deep south.

That was a bad one. There was probably about two feet or more of snow in FW, with bad drifting. the drift in front of my mother's house was about seven feet high (above the garage door) and the drift between the house next door was high enough that you could walk up onto the roof.

I don't remember how I managed to clean that up. I was probably about 17, my father had died about two years before.
