I saw a video of the crash. (Though it's a big question why anyone would be videoing this particular plane as it landed).

The cause seemed to be a failure of the plane to flair just before landing, where the nose comes up slightly. This reduces the descent rate and also slows the plane's forward speed, allowing a gentle touchdown.

This plane looked like it didn't flair so it hit the runway hard. It also may have been too high on approach but maybe not.
