Back in the nineties I was at a bus stop 42nd street I believe Cedar Rapids Iowa waiting for all things a bus. An old gal apparently wanting to catch the bus made mention of a duck with ducklings coming down the street along the curb, she said the duck should be careful or it may get hit by a car. I said we can only hope, she retorted with that classic suburbanite of 'what?' I responded I said we can only hope. Anon I had the bus stop to myself once more.
