I work with this guy who has been taking insulin shots since he was four years old. If he gets a low blood sugar reading he drinks a high fructose soda to get it back up.

But, sugar can be processed by any cell in the body and high fructose corn syrup must be processed by the liver. He has a buddha belly which tells me he has a distended liver. That belly is also visceral fat.

You can't talk to the guy because he does not believe anything other than what the doctors tell him, so I do not waste my time.

You can bet your bottom dollar if he fails to get the insulin he will die pretty quickly. ;)

He avoids sugar like the plague. A couple of us went to ick up a recycle trailer and we stopped at the donut shop. He got a plain cake donut. It seems he has been taking insulin shots since he was four years old. The insulin must be refrigerated too. If we did not have that cooling system, he would have been dead a long time ago. ;)
