The South Vietnamese were giddy when we said we'd be pulling out. They were sick of war and GIs just as much as we were sick of them. I did have a very nice relationship with a Viet family and am certain their fate was likely sealed when we left.
I am of the opinion that they (most Vietnamese) made their communist bed so let them sort it out themselves. It appears that the contemporary South Vietnamese are operating a capitalist/communist system similar to China's and the place looks much better today than when I left there on New Years Day 1972.
If America wants to stop the spread of communism it better clean its own house and do so immediately starting with the U.S. Congress that gives the COMMUNISTS in ISRAEL preference above Americans. This country is getting so fucked up it's almost impossible to recognize anymore.
When Trump said he was giving the country back to "We the People" I think he meant it. Let the fireworks begin !
