The Russians did not send enough troops to take Kiev. Putin made a bold move to end the war. But the UK and the Israel Firsters in the US said No to peace.

Russia does not want Kiev, too many casualties in urban warfare. They learned that lesson in WW II. The Russian goal is to eliminate the Ukrainian Army. That is almost done. They also want to take out the Nazi brigades. Ykraine just sent 15,000 Nazis to the front. And next comes the commisars who are likely the last remnant of Nazis.
