"Bitcoin is now up more than 18% this year."
It's up 43% since I recommend it to a buddy at $78k a couple months ago when gold was at $2,700.
Gold is about $3,300 today.

Rainman's gonna be pissed if I tell him.
(Edit) I don't think gold or BitCoin have a lot of room to run right now. They seem to have some pretty decent floors developing now though. I'd say about $3,100 and $95,000 respectively.

I've been more expectant of Ethereum to at least keep better parity with BTC but that was a terrible miscalc on my part. ETH has done extremely well by conventional market standards in $ pricing, but BTC has been ballistic by comparison. I relied too much on the fact that ETH is technically a superior crypto coin. BTC is far more primitive by comparison. It's like comparing an 18-wheeler to a horse drawn stage coach, and I think that is an accurate scale comparison. But in market usage, BTC is like Windows and ETH is like Apple. At least right now.
For retail usage, ETH is far superior and technical upgrades are continuing with it. BTC cannot be used to buy a cup of coffee though this "Lightning network overlay" seeks to remedy that. Without it, transactions could take 20-30 minutes and cost about $30 to do. ETH is far faster and cheaper. BTC is, like gold, good for companies and countries to trade value, ETH is like silver. Good for retail usage. I'd love to see a country adopt ETH as legal tender as El Salvador did BTC. That would launch it into space.
