The man suspected of killing a Minnesota lawmaker and wounding another crawled to officers in surrender Sunday after they located him in the woods near his home, bringing an end to a massive, nearly two-day search that put the entire state on edge.
Vance Boelter was arrested and charged with two counts of murder and two of attempted murder. He is accused of posing as a police officer and fatally shooting former Democratic House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark, in their home early Saturday in the northern Minneapolis suburbs. Authorities say he also shot Sen. John Hoffman, a Democrat, and his wife, Yvette. They were injured at their residence about 9 miles (about 15 kilometers) away.
“One man’s unthinkable actions have altered the state of Minnesota,” Democratic Gov. Tim Walz said at a news conference after Boelter’s arrest.
The search for Boelter was the “largest manhunt in the state’s history,” Brooklyn Park Police Chief Mark Bruley said. It began when Brooklyn Park officers went to check on Hortman’s home and saw her husband gunned down before the shooter fled.

If a Soros backed DA is intentionally downgrading charges this says A LOT about Boelter's party affiliation. If there was a hint of MAGA he would have every charge possible brought against him.
Some facts on the so-called "politically motivated" shooting in Minnesota. Minnesota Democratic Rep. Melissa Hortman, who was fatally shot on Saturday, made headlines earlier this week for being the only Democratic vote in the state House to vote to repeal taxpayer-funded healthcare coverage for adult illegal immigrants. 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS obtained documents that show Boelter was twice appointed to the nonpartisan Governor’s Workforce Development Board, first in 2016 under former Gov. Mark Dayton and again in 2019 under Gov. Tim Walz. So, he was appointed by two DEM Governors but was not registered as a DEM. While some try to tie him to Republicans, there are no images of him in MAGA attire or indications he was a Trump supporter, though I have read multiple times he was "anti-abortion." Ironies abound. He spoke of being trained in global security but never served in any branch of the military, nor was he a certified LEO. He had a list of people he wanted to kill but attacked the lowest level pols on his alleged list. He seems like a wannabe and a fake, but why did he choose this victim, since she just voted against for support of illegals? Clearly though, he is NOT MAGA! Today he was found hiding in a field. Another gutless wannabee, not "professional" at anything.
