When we lived in Chicago in early 80s, we would go into this wild joint called Carol's Pub.
One night a buddy parked across the street and was walking toward the front door of the bar.
A Squad car pulled up with three cops in it. They hollered for him to come over to the car. He said, "Yeah? What do you want?"
ne of the cops asked what he was doing around here. He told them, "I meet a couple buddies here for a few beers. Why do you ask?"
One of the other cops said, "Someone just shot three niggers on Wilson Ave and we think he came over this way."
There were a lot of Appalachian type people that would go in there.
Three Mexicans sat at the bar. they called me "Caballero Grande" because I always dressed nice and never got in any fights. ;)
