The history of charcoal briquettes is interesting. You'll never guess who invented them.
It's too hot up here to do much outside so we've been taking it easy watching cooking videos looking for food ideas to cook for us.
I almost kicked Kim out of here at zero dark thirty this morning thinking it was Monday. We don't get two whole days together very often.

When I drove Hot Shot out of Chicago in the late 90's, I picked up this guy at a truck stop in Tennessee. He got burned out of his house and only had the clothes on his back.
I stopped at a BBQ and bought him a meal and exra corn bread.
He had family in south suburban Chicago. I dropped him at the Toll Road Oasis on far south side.
About a month later he sent me $10 in the mail. He wrote, "I didn't forget what you did for me."
He was a nice guy. ;)
