Apparently the TinyMCE tool here for imputting text is only free for 1000 usages per month.  After that there's a monthly cost that is not insignificant.  I was unaware of that so it's going to get replaced!

There are other providers, or I could reinvent the wheel and make my own with some AI help.  Probably go with another provider, or at least try it.  I'll experiment with it using the mail system as that's low usage.  We get only 1000 usages of this "tiny" version per month. For Sept it's already half way there, but of course just a few days left in the month.  I'll likely need a new solution by about Sept 10 or so.

Apparently there are privacy issues as well with these  3rd party packages(!!!).  It shouldn't be a concern but am ensuring the replacement is has no 3rd party ability to do that.

Private Mail was getting it's "To" line messed up with new postings but that should be fixed now.  I also retroactively repaired the ToLine data.

As before, all mail is encoded with a weak form of encryption to prevent accidental reading by lowlifes like myself as service is done.  That for those of you sending Top Secret messages via the mail system here to plot all manner of crimes.

Some DB locking, probably resulting from the headlines page which should not have been available in the nav bar, was loking the DB for a LONG time and that caused timeouts on pretty much all the pages on the site.  The Headline page needs more work, and adding it to the nav bar was premature and unintentional....

Okay seem to have the Private Reply links all pretty much working as they should be.  Tomorrow I'll continue working on the replacement for the "Tiny" widget  for doing article/comment/mail compositions.

Okay, had a big fubar with the login / signin / reset PW section of the site but I think it's NOW working okay.  Most all this time I've been servicing the site, it's been only as a logged in user so I wasn't seeing the impact on users NOT logged in, which saw them only getting the home page, even when they click the sign-in link or reset PW link.

The new fangled system cares whether the URL ends with a "/" or not, which was the main issue, and still is, really.  I want to make it not care if it's there or note but haven't cracked that nut yet.  Been a big learning experience.  Sort of.....

Horse, you're idea of creating an instruction post would not have worked for people not logged in as up until now they had no way of seeing it.  They couldn't even see my temp email address on the signin page in case they had problems.   On the plus side, all the bots razing the site are having minimal impact on site usage as they only see the home, signin, register and reset PW  pages.

I think everything is functional right now.  There are a few cosmetic issues I'm seeing I'm gonna fix, like removing extra blank lines above / below / inside of postings and adjusting the nav bar to shift it to the right, but I'm gonna leave things alone for a week or two so you guys don't have to put up with web outages for a while.

What about posting short YT videos?

What about Bitchute and Runble?

The "tinymce" widget in use right now in which you type text and add YT vids and images needs to be replaced.  I got a notice today that I've used up 70% of my alloted 1000 free uses of it for the month of September, and it's only been online for about 1 week and with very few people active thanks to the access issues.  I thought this allowed unlimited usage for basic use & for non-profit type projects which we are.  But alas, no, it's not, so I need to replace it.

"Tiptap" is another tool that can replace "Tinymce" in place right now, and should have unlimited free usage, and since the ability to allow YT & Image and other inserts depends on the text input tool, I first need to get "Tiptap" in place for all article, comment and mail posting activity which will include YT and image support (and links).  Once that's in place, the widget can be exapanded to support rumble, bitchute, YT shorts and any other media in existance.  Or so AI tells me.  Some custom coding will be required for each media type, but I'm told it can be added at will.

October is about to start and assuming limits are by calender month, we'll have 1000 usages available starting in a few hours.  At the current rate of usage, I have until perhaps about Oct 10 to replace tiny with tiptap, which will include YT & image support.  Once that's in place, I'll work on allowing code for the other platforms and YT shorts.  But I'm told ANY and ALL media inserts can be done with Tiptap.
