Academy Award-winners Michael Douglas ("Disclosure," "Wall Street," and "Basic Instinct") and Robert Duvall ("A Civil Action," "The Godfather") star with Emmy-winner and Oscar-nominee Barbara Hershey ("Portrait of a Lady," "Hannah and Her Sisters") in this action-drama about a man's odyssey into madness, prompted by the effects of modern city life. It follows two ordinary men: a laid-off defense worker (Douglas) driven beyond frustration in an endless traffic jam now on a path of violence and potential self destruction, and an LAPD detective (Duvall), only hours away from retirement who is determined to find him and stop his vigilante acts. Directed by hit-maker Joel Schumacher ("Batman Forever," "The Client").

EweToob dumping iconic movies on their 'free movies' site always preceeds something bad about to happen. Every damn time. The first time I recall was Covid.

Jus' sayin'.

If I get a chance, I'll take a look at the list.

Here's the third, Wall Street (1987)...

Academy Award® winner Michael Douglas portrays Gordon Gekko, the unscrupulous corporate raider who becomes a mentor to a young broker (played by Charlie Sheen) and lives by the credo "greed is good.".

This movie was dubbed a "White's revenge" type of movie when it came out, basically expressing frustration for being marginalized for being white.  It's a movie you don't really forget.

Movies can be had via torrent as well, though legalities vary.  Quality of movies obtained by Torrent can be superior to what YT offers.  Then there's all the paid services sometimes available depending on where you live.

"Falling Down" is a very visceral/violent movie. You don't really watch it as much as you feel it.

With the recent clot-shot/mystery deaths and the leftist/Transtifa/negro assassinations/murders and chaos, violence is the last thing me and Kimmy need right now. My and her PTSD is getting to be a problem reconcilling daily events. I'm having really bad dreams when I manage to sleep again. Mine's been under control since the mid 80s, but is creeping back. I feel like guy in the movie. All the time now.

We should probably both be in counselling, but Kim's afraid she'll get fired and I've got too many irons in the fire since Angie's death.

I dread the day that Kimmy's legal-beagle calls me to inform me that she #DiedSuddenly. My sister up near Chicago is suffering from mystery medical problems that nobody can figure out but me.

I think Kim will like "The Martian", it's got a lot of the music that we skated to at The Roller Dome when we were teenagers.

It's got Donna Summer disco ALL THE TIME.  It's the running joke, of course, it being the only music available for him to listen to.  Donna had already died about 3 year prior to production which I think was the reason they chose her / her music.

The Martian Soundtracks

I swear to Christ, I can't make croutons without burning them. I was making some in case Kim wants French onion soup this weekend.

The time between white and burnt is about 3.14159265 seconds, after 45 minutes of drying them out at 200F. Son of a bitch, all I did was turn around to get a drink off my counter.

Okay, I guess I just remember Donna's music being the butt of the jokes because it's all he has to listen to.

Can't help you with the crouton recipe.  I'd buy them at the supermarket.

"I'd buy them at the supermarket."

Way too expensive, I'm a tight-ass. I need to learn to keep my shit squared away for  at least two and a half minutes at a time.

I had a half bag that I managed not to burn somehow. They don't look too bad mixed together.

I only turned away for a few seconds, I swear...

If "Temu Transtifa Satan" behind my house doesn't manage to assassinate me, I'll probably die in a house fire.

I'm takin' a whack at macaroni and cheese with bacon right this second for just me.

So far, so good.

Seriously, what sort of weirdos make their own croutons but prefer artificially flavored powdered drinky mix over frozen concentrate actual juice? :)

You know how rambunctious Kim gets on sugar. I'm almost healed up from making her Purple Drank from frozen concentrate grape juice a couple weekends ago.

'No added sugar' my ass. It was like purple maple syrup. Thank God for stevia and Kool-Aid.

When I use FCJ I prefer the extra puly country style orange. That would be with vodka. It would never occur to me to use grape juice as a mixer. What did you mix it with?<p>Only FJ/liqur cobo other than screwdriver is maybe apple juice and dark rum, but I've not tried it, just sounds reasonable.

Burnett's Vodka. Loddy recommended it, it's as good as Stoli, but a whole lot cheaper.

My go to is Windsor Canadian Whiskey, when I'm in a whiskey mood. I mix it with black tea, I call it Canadian tea.

I just got into Kim's stash right this second. My back's fucked up. It feels like I have a sword through me. Either that, or I'm having heart attack.

I KNEW me and Doc were GenX. They used to say Boomers went 'til 1964. We're NOT Boomers.

We're too fatalistic.

There's quite the argument going on about who's GenX and who's Boomers on X

To me the split was always before/after JFKs departure from DFW.

I see your point, but you better run that by Kimmy first.

She'd probably tell you I'm GenZ, all things being equal.

Just between you and me, I think Kim gets a thrill out of sneaking around trying not to get shot by 'Temu Trans-Adjascent Satan' behind me.

It's gotta be more exciting than lancing boils or whatever she does during the week though.

It can't be all about my body or cooking. Certainly not by charming and delightful personality.

About #5 on my list of reasons I had to get out of Indpls was a crazed neighbor. The grandson of the old woman that owned the house. Idiot would just get angry for no reason and just go off, shouting that he wanted to be left alone as I walked away or pointed him to his yard/house. Never had a problem with him once he realised there was no way in hell I was going to converse or even acknowlege.

"About #5 on my list of reasons I had to get out of Indpls was a crazed neighbor."

I built this shithole in the late 70s as Jimmy Carter's reign of poverty (20+% interest rates) wore on. 'Transtifa Satan's' not chasing me away.

I don't keep locks on my gates to keep juvinile delinquents from letting my dogs out. I don't have dogs anymore.

I don't keep locks on my gates for my protection, they're there to protect people from me, the FWPD absolutely insists on it after the shooting in 2008 and they check. I called the desk sergeant to get a report about the garbage men wrecking about 40' of my fence when they got off the alley. They dispatched four squads (for their safety, Im sure).

Dr. Kimmy didn't hunt me down after 45 years because I'm a pussy. She wanted a man.

I'm actually a pretty nice guy unless you're a dicq, like questioning me about croutons or Kool-Aid. LOL.

We might've lost a lot of 4um friends with the switch over.

To Doug,

I might be figuring out the 'To:' thing, but I probably won't remember it tomorrow.

Lod's probably gone to God, when Tommy said he was 'going dark' he wasn't shitting me.

It would be Loddy's 79th birthday on the 30th.

Godspeed my friends.
