If you put a potato in the microwave and press “Pizza,” when it comes out, it’s still a potato. That’s how genders work.

What would you do?

I'd text my buddy Rainman and tell him I'm gonna need bail, before the cops arrest ME.

He'd send his wife down to the jail with cash, again. The bitch clipped me for 15% last time.

I pumped gas at that time and buying a dollars worth of gas was common, when ever those  customers would ask for a buck of gas I'd say okay hold out your hand. before and after the OPEC crisis we had the gas wars, little kids would come into the station with fifty cents to get a pack of smokes for their mom, they'd buy candy with the 2 cents of change.yep smokes were 48 cents after the 3.2% state tax, a half bag was $20 had to put in the hours to make that $2.75 an hour make the cut.

The roofers are coming tomorrow. Chris is sayin' they'll probably be done by noon.

That'll be interesting to see, three roofs in four hours?

Must be charging a lot, that's 26 beaners just to scrape and repaper, down here those guys might make $30.00 for a ten hour day but only round up a crew of six and be done in two days

Four guys, the honcho appears to be Amish, three up top and a gofer below.

Metal roofs, going on top of the single layer threetabs, no tear off. At least we won't be finding nails for two years.

They're laying wood slats along the length of the roof now. They're starting on Chris's house which is 10/12 pitch, his garage and my shop are 6/12, I built both of those, his garage about 15 years ago, second roof, don't remember on my shop, this will be the, third and final roof for me. Didn't see any evidence of leaks when we were up there yesterday unhooking the solar panels and power vent.

They might be only putting the slats on Chris's house. They're levelling the wavyness with wedges under the slats. I think his house was the original farmhouse before International Harvester built the rest of the hood, it's probably well over 125 y/o. I built my house in the late 70s when I wasn't busy macking on Kimmy.

today we are working on another chicken coop was planning to put seven of the nine roosters in it but with the two spring hatches I've added over 25 hens to the flock and they squable over neesting boxes every morning when the runs are opened they free range in various sized groups with two older roosters and one from each of the spring hatch as security they have no problems going at the hawks which don't come around too often any more.

"Chris is sayin' they'll probably be done by noon."

No way in hell. They might get done today if the next three go fast, I forgot Chris's house has two roofs, the second is when the bathroom and kitchen was added on in the 1940s or whenever.

That's common to about every house here unless it was built later, like mine.

I learned roofing when I was 13 asphalt over two layers of shakes the pitch was such that there was very little snow loading it was a real hoot, I'll use metal on the new coop.

"I learned roofing when I was 13"

Air con engineer anchors to building side for mid-air equipment repair.

Holy shit! It about killed me yesterday just getting up in the attic of my shop to unbolt, and de-wire the solar panels and to get the motor and wiring taken out of the power vent.

Seems like somekind of inside access would've been prudent on that skyscraper build.

How those guys are sticking to that 10/12 metal across the street is a mystery. 6/12 is my limit.

The roofers are screwin' the pooch. They're timing it so they finish at 4 or 5 and leave.

They want a slow easy day and an early weekend tomorrow.

Been there. They'll piddle around and get out of here by 2.

"Too late to start another one today, boss. We ran into problems and it's gonna rain this weekend."

At least two of the guys are Amish, the other two look like white kids. I hope I get the same crew.

Juan & Hector must've called in today.

This might be handy for my house. I hope it works as good as they say.

It'd be handy for servicing my vent-free gas fireplace in the fall. It'd save having to drag the portable air tank in from the shop. $50 inc. tax/shipping.

I hope it gets here soon.

Probably, but I keep a little vacuum sweeper upstairs. I might be able to use it for dusting. God knows this joint needs it.

Chris's job came out damn nice. I'm impressed. They said they'd be here 7:30-8:00 tomorrow.

Time to gear up, the guys should be here in an hour and a half. The weather's perfect, they're calling for a high of 73 and mostly cloudy.

If they're nice, they'll be out of here by noon and I can get to the grocery store. I'm not letting Kim, or me, go another weekend without booze.

Kroger sent me a good batch of coupons a week or so ago. Should be able to use all of them. The freezers are gettin' a little thin-in-the-skin.

"let's get this show on the road!"

My boys are standing me up. No show.

They must've gone on to their scheduled job. I knew they couldn't get it done in one day.

They can't get ahold of me, they don't have my number, probably don't even know my name. I let Chris deal with the salesman, I wasn't in the mood for it. I'm just paying for it.

They're not gonna get ahold of Chris, he's sacked out. He works nights, 2200-0600. He told me yesterday when they were finishing up, he hadn't slept since Wednesday noon.

Update, they woke him up. Their truck broke down. He said they're supposed to be here first thing tomorrow. I hope they beat the rain.

Change of plan: I went to Kroger and got that out of the way. A new record, a shade over $300, even with the coupons. We should be set for a while.

I forgot Kim's cottage cheese. Nothing like going to the grocery to shut my mind off, gone, done. At least I remembered the Squirt's gift cards for Taco Bell and McD's for her birthday. I'll have to mail them to Sling Blade. I can't seem to catch up to him. I'll stop at the dollar store for a card. I ain't spending $7 for a piece of pasteboard.

"Mr. Nap Time, I'm sorry for being mean to you when I was young."

No shit. I was up at 5 this morning, and 3, and 1, and 11... I'm losing the battle of the prostate.

Did someone say it's after 1700 Zulu? I've got plenty of booze now. Not that Kimmy's a drunk like me (she never imbibes within 24 hours of working), but it takes the edge of the long weeks for her. I feel guilty drinking in front of her on Sundays. I've gone without for almost two weeks now.

I'll never make that mistake again.

It's age restricted without the subtitles. Sheesh.

I texted Dakkie to see if he's still alive, no word yet. What a shit day from the git.

I don't like having people doing my shit, but my injuries preclude me from doing much anymore.

I've got 'a sneakin' suspicion,' as dad used to call it, that Kim didn't have a good week. If Dak doesn't show up with his cunning linguistics tomorrow night, the forecast is for grumpy and drunk inside this weekend.

I'm hoping he still even associates with us peons at 4um now thet he's skimmed two billion bux ot of the healthcare system with his clever software hacks and now lives on a horse farm in central Indiana.

I should send my ex-wife down to him, she likes horseys and is tired of the gay, male, pediatric nurse she married after she left me because she thought it was chic.

[Pro tip, Dak: Run her through a qualified mechanic and have her checked out for problems and mechanical defects and rust. McMurphy told me she had a pretty rough go with that Monkey Pox accident a few years ago.]

If it's not raining and the roofers show up bright and early tomorrow, I hope they leave their attitudes at home. It's not my fault they're working on a Saturday. That was their call, not mine. They don't even know my name. Chris was in charge. I can't deal with people anymore.

Rainman was blowin' smoke up my ass about coming over tomorrow night to meet Kim. "That ain't happening, Dad. If she wanted to meet people, she'd join a fucking 'Lonely Hearts' forum."

Esso's prayer, "God please let this week end so I can get everybody paid off before I stroke out. Amen."

I'm racking up so many likes on X from fucking inane comments I make, and have so many OF sluts following me me that Elon is going to monitize me.

I stand to make $12.00/month, 48 times what JPMorgue Chase pays me on $100,000.

I'm in the tall cotton now.

For my late, angst-ridden nurse friend, Aleena...

"Does anyone know where the love of God goes when the bullshit turns the minutes to hours?"

My PTSD is at 11, Kim's not any better, the depopulation leftists are starting their clot-shot/vax push again. WTAF???

God help us. We should've gotten this squared away with the homosexual Kenyan and Michael Lavergne Robinson, AKA Big Mike.

Forgive us, Loddy. We know not what what we do.

Me and Kimmy have a pinky-swear agreement, no butt-stuff and no medical diagnoses, except that she's as hot at 61 as she was at 15! Me, not so much. I'm pretty banged up.

I miss us being the King and Queen at Roller Dome in the late 70s.

When I was dropped off there as a shaver, the rule was 'NO DUNGAREES ALLOWED!'

Marge what's-her-name lightened up a bit before when I started chasing pussy. That's where I met Kimmy, a few years before she beacame a physician.

We haven't been able to find a place to dance (without wheels), we can go anywhere to have a 'group phone stare', but it's a lot safer and cheape to do it in this storage unit I call my hovel.

It'll be interesting to see if my roofers get rained out tomorrow. If they come, it's not my doing that they're working on a Saturday. They can leave their attitudes at home.

You should've seen us back then. I'd break my hips and wrists now. I saw my old skates when me and Chris were up in the attic of the shop a couple days ago.

I made a high-line set of skates, my pinnacle, out of a pair of knee-high (American) Indan moccasins. Jump bars, the works. I have no idea how I pulled that off in the late 70s, but I did.

No idea how I found the moccasins pre-internet, but I took them to a shoe repair joint in Georgetown Square and had them glue and sew soles on them (too thin amd too soft) .

I was really smart, but inexperienced, I should have had the cobbler put a heel on the new mocs. The first test drive was a disaster. Walking barefoot and skating that way sent me towards a totally rewarding career with the CIA. There was a couple steps I left out.

I saw one of the mocs when I was handing up tools to Chris when we were disconnecting the disasterous solar project.

I don't lock my gates for my protection, I do it for everybody else. The FWPD insists on it since the shooting in 2008.

I'm a nice guy as a rule, but if you try to kill me, don't bend over to see if I'm dead.

I'll kill you with a hideout gun, or something.

I've got two modes. You see that light swith next to you? You can push it up a little bit until the light comes on.

Or you can get your fucking finger off the switch.

last time I roller skated was '77 must have been around a year or more before for ice skating. I got turnrd on to Bob Marley roller skating, my mom was big into it and I enjoyed going as it was always warmer than on the ice. I don't recall any indoor ice rinks within 80 miles of where I lived at that time. my dad does bead work on moccasins and such, has a tepee he uses when he's on the pow wow cuircut in the summers.
