The Trump administration is recalling nearly 30 career diplomats from ambassadorial and other senior embassy posts around the world.
Diplomats in 29 countries were given notices Wednesday informing them that they'd be out of a job by mid-January, according to two State Department officials.
All of them were assigned to their posts by the Biden administration but had remained in their jobs for the first year of Trump's second term despite an initial wave of cuts that targeted mainly political appointees.
The directive offered no explanation for the recall, but Trump administration officials said they will now be replaced with personnel deemed fully supportive of Donald Trump's 'America First' priorities.
