The Clown Car's battery gave up the ghost the other day. I had to drive the Tacoma to run errands for the first time in about two years.

It's like switching from a Cessna 152 to a 747.

The battery is under the passenger floor footwell. It's a group MT-47/H5, like a big motorcycle battery, vent tube and all.

I swung by Chip's and had them order me one from NAPA. At least he didn't have to go through Mercedes-Benz, but it was still over $200. There's an SLA upgrade available at $300+.

I was jokin' with Chip on New Year's Eve that I was gonna bring the car in to have them take a look and see what's going on with the exhaust and how he'll be able to afford opening a third shop.

You don't make fun of Clown Car, the sumbitch gets even. I should've learned that lesson from Kimmy, they don't get along at all.

Anyway, it looks like the only tool I'll need is a deepwell 10mm socket on a 1/4" ratchet to do the job.

Maybe I'll do it tomorrow, I feel too good to go out today.

Just got done replacing the batt in the clown car.

It was a bitch getting it out. You have to tip it up on its end and pull it out.

My arthritic hands weren't cooperating, so I put a small vice grip on the negative post as a handle.

Gettin' the new one in was a lot easier. Gravity helped.

I watched this video to get an idea of the motion to get the battery out.

Doing half the job from the driver's seat was just showing off.

He should try that with a broken back.

Mine's a 2010, a little different on the wires.

the ones I use for power storage are over 70 lbs each, they put good handles on them these days.

I had a couple 210A/h deep cycle batteries to run a 6kW inverter on my solar system in my shop.

I told Sling Blade to come get & scrap 'em.

They were probably 200lb each. I don't know how he got 'em in the truck, I wasn't here at the time.

He's a tough little guy, I saw him hit something with a sledgehammer so hard once, it about broke my hands.

That's where he got his nickname.
