Since Ecuador does not, sadly, do daylight savings time, it alternates between Eastern and Central US time. And of course, Ecuador is on the westernmost side of South America. Eastern Brasil is 2 time zones away.

This may be the reason for the misconception of SA's placement in the world. Of course the game "Risk" was made sometime in the early 1500's which explains why the map is so off.
