in the early '80s J C Whitney sold a purpose designed set up, the top unscrewed so the filling with paint was easy issues we had with them was due to the paints we used some were lacquer thinner solvent thinned and some was xylene thinned and enamel-based stuff. they take a long time to clean, for a fee one could get replacement cap and tube assemblies. seems an iteration of jc whitney is still alive as carparts.com, I got the feeling carparts.com does not wish to talk about their original store in Cicero Il a triangular affair maybe around w31st and w ogden but that was in '86

I haven't thought about JC Whitney in a long time, Ghost.
I used to read their catalogs like comic books when I was a kid.
I always knew where to go for Kaiser-Frazer and VW beetle parts.
Not that I needed many.

for a few weeks I was at NTC Greatlakes with catalogue in one hand payphone handset in the other I called in my order and gave me a pickup time for that afternoon had to do a brake job on my '71 bronco I drove from the Navy base to the federal building in down town chicago without brakes should have seen the look on the face of the gal who pulled up beside me and yelled that my brake lights weren't working I told her that wasn't the half of it I've got no brakes. used the three on the tree to slow down to a crawl with it in low lock second. all I had to do to order the stuff was give them the catalogue number page number and item numbers and a call back number, when I got there around six thirty that evening they had it all in a cart waiting for me. yes, those catalogues

that's why I have memory foam inserts in my shoes, I must have my memory foam mattress topper upside down, I only remember the nightmares.
